Primary

Class I to V

Our Primary School offers each child a rigorous and innovative learning journey relevant to the challenges of our quickly changing world. Students future-proof their skills by becoming self-directed, resilient, life-long learners.

Preparing Primary students for the future demands more than simple knowledge. Students will need the flexibility and agility to apply knowledge to unfamiliar and complex situations in the real-world. They will need to develop higher order thinking skills in order to be ahead of the curve.

In classes I to V, the focus is on encouraging inquiry, exploration and on inculcating confidence in key learning skills – reading, writing, listening, speaking, information technology capability, problem-solving, observation and measurement. Children are encouraged to speak and perform at assemblies, concerts, sports and thus gain confidence in their ability to communicate to a wider audience through a team building ability.

We recognise that children at this level are active, curious, experimental, imaginative, and talkative and, above all, disconcertingly frank. Each child is an individual with his or her own unique abilities, interests, aspirations and expectations.
